DAVIES COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) – A 19-year-old motorcyclist died following a crash early Saturday on Luther Taylor Road near Philpot.
According to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. when dispatch received reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Sheriff Brad Youngman confirmed that first responders, including Daviess County Fire and AMR, arrived on scene and found the unresponsive motorcyclist near a crashed motorcycle.
Preliminary investigations suggest the motorcyclist was traveling northbound when he lost control and crashed, landing in a water-filled ditch.
Emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures and transported the victim to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the incident.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
