GODFREY, IL — A motorcycle crash on Godfrey Road critically injured the rider and closed the roadway for investigation on June 11.
The incident occurred around 4:55 p.m. near Crestwood Drive, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. The road was closed until approximately 9:10 p.m. for accident reconstruction.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle rider was airlifted from the scene with life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the car involved also sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for observation. The nature of their injuries has not been confirmed.
The Metro East Crash Assistance Team responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. No further details regarding the driver’s condition have been released.
