CHICAGO (WLS) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a collision with a sedan on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Friday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
The crash occurred on southbound Interstate 94 near 83rd Street shortly after 12:15 a.m., authorities said.
ISP reported that the motorcyclist, who failed to brake in time, rear-ended the sedan and was ejected from the motorcycle.
The injured motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital; the condition is currently unknown. The driver of the sedan was not injured.
In response to the crash, all southbound lanes of the interstate were temporarily closed, reopening shortly after 4:30 a.m.
ISP did not provide further details, and the investigation is ongoing.
