FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A motorcycle crash involving a tractor-trailer in Fairfax County resulted in one fatality on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 29 and Meadow Estates, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.
The motorcyclist, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are still working to identify both the motorcyclist and the tractor-trailer driver.
Emergency responders closed the route and began an investigation which included crash reconstruction detectives on site for several hours.
Route 29 reopened shortly before 5 p.m., authorities confirmed.
