Motorcyclist Dies in Crash in North Phoenix
PHOENIX — A 33-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday night on Black Canyon Access Road, according to authorities.
At approximately 9:38 p.m., Phoenix Police responded to a single-vehicle accident involving the motorcycle. Upon arrival, first responders found the driver, Mathew James Russell, unresponsive.
Russell was transported to a nearby hospital by Phoenix Fire, where he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities stated that preliminary investigations revealed Russell was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control, collided with a raised barrier, and crashed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
