GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash involving two vehicles on Saturday night.
The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. when a 38-year-old man on a motorcycle traveling west on Fulton Street collided with a light green Subaru Crosstrek, driven by a 34-year-old man, who turned onto Crahen Avenue into the motorcycle’s path, according to Michigan State Police (MSP).
The impact ejected the motorcyclist, who landed in the eastbound lanes of Fulton Street, where he was subsequently struck by another vehicle.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed in the left lane at the time of the crash. The Subaru was moving on a green light when it turned, according to MSP.
Witnesses reported that the second vehicle involved may have been a Tesla, although this has not been confirmed.
Emergency medical personnel transported the motorcyclist to the hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.
MSP is continuing to investigate the crash, and further details have not yet been released.
