Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Truck on SR-94 in Spring Valley
Spring Valley, CA – A 63-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Peter James Battle, died following a collision with a truck on State Route 94 on June 10, 2026.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:27 a.m. in the eastbound lanes at Via Mercado. According to the California Highway Patrol, Battle’s motorcycle rear-ended a truck in the left lane under unclear circumstances.
Emergency responders transported Battle to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 10:18 a.m. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed his death was due to multiple blunt force injuries.
The motorcycle was towed from the scene, and no additional injuries were reported. Authorities are currently investigating the incident. Further information has not been released.
