Maryland Paramedic Kevin Wells Dies in I-95 Motorcycle Crash.

BALTIMORE — A three-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 claimed the life of 40-year-old Paramedic Kevin Wells early on July 14.

Wells was riding a motorcycle northbound near Russell Street when he collided with a sedan and an SUV shortly before 7 a.m., according to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders from multiple agencies were dispatched, and the crash resulted in lane closures as investigations began. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision.

Wells, who had over two decades of experience in emergency medical services, volunteered with Calvert Advanced Life Support and worked part-time for Charles County EMS. He was commuting home from an overnight shift with Maryland Express Care when the accident occurred.

Colleagues described Wells as a mentor and a friend, noting his passion for cooking. Dr. Ben Lawner, medical director of University of Maryland ExpressCare, expressed the deep loss felt by the community.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
