Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 123 Leaves One Dead in Jefferson County

Jefferson County, AL—A three-vehicle collision on Highway 123 resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries on October 14 at approximately 2:41 p.m.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred in the westbound lanes near mile marker 12. One vehicle overturned, leading to significant traffic disruption. Emergency responders from the Jefferson County Fire Department were on-site to assess and transport victims.

Authorities confirmed that one driver, a 38-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two additional individuals sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The specific nature of their injuries has not yet been released.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for several hours as investigators conducted a thorough examination of the scene. The westbound lanes were reopened by 5:00 p.m. as clean-up operations concluded.
