Two residents of Connecticut are in critical but stable condition following a motorcycle crash in Torrington on Saturday night, according to the Torrington Police Department.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene on Winsted Road (State Route 800) around 7 p.m. Authorities said a motorcycle traveling southbound lost control, left the roadway, and ejected both the operator and passenger.
Robert Hackett, 58, of Winsted, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Kelly Maloney, 54, of Torrington, was airlifted by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital. She is also in critical but stable condition, according to police reports.
Authorities notified the families of both individuals involved. Winsted Road was closed for several hours as investigators collected evidence and mapped the scene.
