COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) — A motorcycle crash in Lowndes County resulted in a fatality on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Military Road and Black Creek Road, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities identified the deceased motorcyclist as 57-year-old John Clardy, of Alabama. The other driver sustained minor injuries.
Emergency responders pronounced Clardy dead at the scene. The roadway was closed for investigation and cleanup.
The accident involved two vehicles, and an investigation into the collision is ongoing.
