BALDWIN TOWNSHIP, WI (WQOW) – A car versus motorcycle crash resulted in one fatality Thursday in St. Croix County.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of 90th Avenue. Authorities said a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, driven by a 16-year-old from Baldwin, was making a left turn when it collided with a westbound 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, identified as 57-year-old Darin Ofstie of Baldwin, sustained critical injuries and was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported by air to a local hospital, where he later died.
The teenage driver was wearing a seatbelt and received treatment for minor injuries.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident. Further details, including lane closures and tows, were not immediately available.
