Two Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Pea Ridge, Arkansas on March 26

Two individuals died on March 26, 2026, in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 62 and West Rose Street in Benton County.

According to the Arkansas State Police, the incident occurred at 11:54 a.m. when a westbound 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 45-year-old Jose Luis Gamez of Pea Ridge, made a left turn and collided with an eastbound 1989 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The motorcycle was operated by 70-year-old Michael J. Cordes of Rogers, with 67-year-old Freda I. Cordes as a passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Gamez was arrested and charged with two counts of negligent homicide, first-offense DWI, and improper entry or exit at an intersection. He is also under a hold from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Trooper Brandon A. Walker of the Arkansas State Police is investigating the crash. Bond for Gamez was set at $500,000 on at least one of the negligent homicide charges, with cash/surety options on the others. No further details regarding the investigation or court proceedings have been released as of March 30, 2026.

Lane closures were reported at the intersection during the investigation.
