EUGENE, Ore. — At approximately 3:52 p.m. on January 23, Eugene Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on the eastbound Beltline Highway near River Road.
The collision involved a 32-year-old motorcyclist, Jacob Thomas Macklin, riding a Honda Shadow, a Chevy Silverado, and a Toyota Camry.
Witnesses reported that Macklin was traveling between the #1 and #2 lanes when he rear-ended the Toyota, causing the Chevy to hit him from behind. An additional motorist stopped traffic to protect Macklin from further injury.
Macklin sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He faces several charges, including Driving While Suspended-Misdemeanor, Reckless Driving, and Operating Without Driving Privileges.
Authorities said the accident prompted temporary lane closures as emergency responders arrived on the scene. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
