PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KATV) — A motorcycle crash resulted in two fatalities in Jefferson County early Monday morning.
Authorities identified the victims as 44-year-old Joanthony Garcia and his 22-year-old daughter, Junique Garcia. The accident occurred just before 1 a.m. on US Highway 79.
According to a preliminary report, the motorcycle failed to navigate a curve, leaving the roadway on the east side and hitting the curb. Both riders were ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders pronounced both individuals dead at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the fatalities shortly after.
Officials noted that road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the incident. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
