Ocklawaha Motorcycle Collision Claims Life of Ocala Man
OCKLAWAHA, Fla. — A 36-year-old Ocala man died in a motorcycle crash involving a sport utility vehicle on Sunday at approximately 2:20 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at the intersection of Southeast 95th Street Road and Southeast 170th Avenue Road. The motorcyclist was traveling west when an SUV turned left in front of him, resulting in a collision.
The force of the impact caused both vehicles to come to a stop within the intersection. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the SUV, a 68-year-old Leesburg resident, and his passenger, 87, were unharmed in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
Authorities urge caution in the area as they continue to gather information.
