LOYALHANNA TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A motorcycle crash on State Route 286 resulted in one fatality Thursday night in Westmoreland County.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred at 10:44 p.m. where Route 286 intersects with County Road.
A motorcycle and a pickup truck were traveling west on Route 286 when the pickup attempted a left turn onto County Road. The motorcycle was in the left lane and collided with the truck and its trailer.
The rider, identified as Peter C. Devey, 59, of Murrysville, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck reported no injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. Lane closures were in effect following the incident.
