Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Meridian Leaves One Dead
MERIDIAN, Idaho — A motorcycle crash at the intersection of Ustick and Locust Grove roads resulted in one fatality on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. when a northbound motorcycle collided with a box truck making a turn onto Ustick. Emergency services closed the intersection for several hours as investigators gathered evidence at the scene, according to Idaho State Police (ISP).
The motorcyclist, an 18-year-old man from Meridian riding a blue 2007 Yamaha FZ6, was pronounced dead at the scene. ISP confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The truck’s driver, a 34-year-old Caldwell man, was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
Both directions of Ustick and Locust Grove were shut down until approximately 9 p.m. for a crash reconstruction and debris removal, according to the Ada County Highway District.
ISP is currently leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
