KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Raytown Road late Sunday night.
According to Kansas City police, the motorcycle, identified as a customized American Chopper, was heading southbound on Raytown Road from Longview Road when the rider lost control.
The motorcycle crossed the double yellow center line, entered a ditch, and overturned, ejecting the rider, who was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grandview EMS.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
This incident marks the 14th traffic fatality of the year in the area, an increase from 10 fatalities at the same time last year.
