SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A 22-year-old motorcyclist from Woodbury, Minnesota, crashed on I-90 Westbound at the Sprague Avenue on-ramp around 9:47 a.m. on Dec. 10, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist lost control due to excessive speed while merging and collided with a barrier on the left side. He was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries. No drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident, and he has been charged with negligent driving in the second degree.
The incident involved only the motorcycle, with no other vehicles or pedestrians impacted.
The Spokane Regional Transportation Management Center confirmed that the right two lanes of I-90 Westbound were blocked following the crash. The lane closure was cleared by 11:40 a.m., according to SRTMC updates.
Spokane Valley Fire advised drivers to exercise caution and to give emergency crews room to work safely during the incident.
