Greenville, S.C. – A motorcyclist died after colliding with a big rig on Friday night in Greenville.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4 p.m. on Belton-Anderson Highway at Estes Drive.
A 45-year-old man was riding a 2012 Yamaha motorcycle and was attempting to turn onto Belton-Anderson Highway from Estes Drive when he crashed into the trailer of a 2000 Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling west on Belton-Anderson Highway.
As per the report, it appeared the semi-truck had slowed to make a turn when it was hit.
The motorcyclist was killed in the collision, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
