Two Fatal Crashes Occur on Highway 175 in Washington County
WASHINGTON COUNTY — Two separate crashes on Highway 175 resulted in fatalities on Saturday, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The first crash occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. at Highway 175 and County Road S in the Town of Addison. Authorities said a semitrailer collided with a passenger vehicle, prompting responses from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Hartford Police Department. Emergency personnel from the St. Lawrence Fire Department, Allenton Rescue, and West Bend Intercept also assisted.
The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 32-year-old woman from Ripon, was extricated and transported to Froedtert Medical Center in West Bend, where she later died from her injuries. The semitrailer driver, a 53-year-old man from Pennsylvania, sustained minor injuries and was released from a local medical facility. Highway 175 and County Road S were closed for approximately four hours for investigation and vehicle removal. Preliminary findings indicate the passenger vehicle failed to yield at a stop sign.
The second crash occurred later that evening, just after 8:30 p.m., at Highway 175 and Hillside Road in the Town of Polk. Authorities reported a motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle. The operator of the motorcycle, a 54-year-old man from Richfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was evaluated on-site but did not require transport.
Emergency responders, including the Slinger Police Department and Lifestar Ambulance Services, assisted in the response. Highway 175 between Sherman Road and Farmlane Drive was closed for roughly four hours to facilitate the investigation. Both incidents remain under investigation. These are the fifth and sixth fatal crashes in Washington County for 2025.
