HURON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) – A pedestrian was killed in a crash involving two vehicles Tuesday night on U.S. Route 250.
The incident occurred at 10:10 p.m. near Fox Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Richard Hartnell, 56, from Kenosha, Wisconsin, was attempting to walk on U.S. Route 250 when he was struck by a northbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, James Ritzenthaler, 66, of Fremont, was also involved in a secondary collision with a Toyota RAV4, driven by Andre Luckie, 35, of Norwalk.
Hartnell sustained fatal injuries at the scene, while Ritzenthaler received minor injuries and was treated on-site; Luckie reported no injuries.
Emergency response included the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Perkins Township Police Department, Erie County Coroner’s Office, and Wilson Towing and Repair.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, authorities said.
