Connecticut Motorcyclist Dies in California Crash, Family Seeks Help for Funeral Expenses
LONG BEACH, CA — Jamaih Fortin, 23, of Bristol, Connecticut, died following a motorcycle accident on the Pacific Coast Highway last week, according to local authorities.
Fortin lost control of his motorcycle and struck a parked car, resulting in fatal injuries. Emergency services responded to the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
His father, Jeremy Fortin, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist in transporting his son’s body back home. “Losing a child is something no parent should ever have to endure,” he stated.
Family members described the financial burden and emotional shock of the loss as overwhelming. As of Friday morning, April 17, the GoFundMe campaign has raised $11,000 towards its $12,000 goal.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been released. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
