Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Wreck Involving Georgia Sculptor

ATLANTA, GA — A man pleaded guilty on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, in connection with a traffic accident that resulted in the death of a prominent Georgia sculptor.

Authorities said the incident occurred on September 15, 2022, around 5:30 p.m. on US Highway 78 in DeKalb County. Two vehicles were involved in the collision, causing significant injuries to the victim, identified as 54-year-old Roy H. Miller, who succumbed to his injuries shortly after the crash.

Emergency response teams, including the DeKalb County Police Department and local EMS, arrived at the scene. Miller was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other driver was treated for minor injuries.

The highway was temporarily closed in both directions for the investigation and cleanup, which lasted approximately three hours. Authorities confirmed that the guilty plea includes charges related to vehicular homicide.

The investigation remains ongoing, with pending sentencing for the defendant.
