Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Madison County
A motorcycle accident in Madison County on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of a 45-year-old man.
The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. on Illinois Route 157 near the intersection with Fosterburg Road. Authorities reported that the motorcycle collided with a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency responders from the MADISON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE and local ambulances were dispatched to the site. The injured driver of the pickup truck received medical attention but was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the crash, both northbound and southbound lanes of Route 157 were closed for several hours while the scene was secured and investigated by authorities.
