Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Virginia Beach Leaves One Dead
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A motorcycle crash on Buckner Boulevard resulted in one fatality on Saturday afternoon, October 7, 2023.
According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. involving a motorcycle and a sedan. The motorcycle rider, a 29-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said both vehicles were traveling eastbound when the crash occurred near the intersection with First Colonial Road. Emergency medical services responded promptly, but efforts to revive the motorcycle rider were unsuccessful.
The sedan driver, a 35-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. As a result of the incident, Buckner Boulevard was closed for approximately three hours while authorities conducted an investigation and cleared the scene.
The Virginia Beach Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. No charges have been filed as of now.
This incident marks the second motorcycle fatality in the city this year. Officials urge motorcyclists and motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to enhance road safety.
