Albany County Sheriff Investigates Fatal Crash in New Scotland.

A two-car crash on State Route 32 in New Scotland resulted in one fatality on Saturday evening.

According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. at State Route 32 and Tarrytown Road.

Investigators found that a southbound Acura collided head-on with a northbound Subaru, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Mark Rose, 74, of Westerlo, the operator of the Subaru, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Linda Rose, 63, also of Westerlo, was transported to Albany Medical Center in critical condition.

Anthony Depoalo, 24, of Schenectady, the driver of the Acura, was not injured. His passenger, Colin Dineen, 26, also from Schenectady, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is on-site conducting a crash reconstruction as part of the ongoing investigation.

Emergency response included Albany County Sheriff’s EMS, New York State Police, and local fire departments. Lane closures were in effect during the response.
