Delta Motorcycle Collision Leaves Rider Injured
A motorcycle collision with a vehicle on Scott Road at 71st Avenue in Delta resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries to the rider on Saturday afternoon.
According to the DELTA POLICE DEPARTMENT, the crash occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. The motorcycle was reported to have struck a vehicle that was turning left into Scottsdale Centre. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
BC Emergency Health Services dispatched three units to the scene, confirming that the motorcyclist was treated and transported to the hospital in serious condition.
Video footage from a surveillance camera shows the motorcycle traveling south on Scott Road before the impact. Witnesses reported that the collision sent both the rider and the motorcycle into the air, with the bike becoming suspended from a traffic light.
Scott Road was closed between 72nd and 70th avenues as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances of the crash.
