Anchorage Police Seek Driver After Fatal Motorcycle Collision
Anchorage police are searching for the driver of a pickup truck involved in a fatal motorcycle collision Sunday evening.
The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. near Arlington Drive and West Northern Lights Boulevard, killing 31-year-old Christian Islas-Stauffer, according to authorities. Officers and Anchorage Fire Department medics found Islas-Stauffer unresponsive; he was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
Initial reports indicate that Islas-Stauffer’s motorcycle collided with a white GMC pickup truck, which left the scene, said police spokesman Christopher Barraza. No further details about the incident were available Wednesday morning, and no charges have been filed at this time.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the collision to contact the police at 311 or submit tips anonymously through Anchorage Crime Stoppers.
