Woman in critical condition following motorcycle accident.

A motorcycle crash on the Seward Highway left a woman critically injured just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Danielle Griffin, 33, of Anchorage, was struck by a southbound semi truck after being thrown from a motorcycle driven by her husband, Chad Griffin, 38, also of Anchorage.

Chad Griffin lost control of their 2007 Harley-Davidson while attempting to pass several vehicles. Witnesses reported that his wife was ejected into the path of a 2002 Kenworth truck driven by David McDonald, 38, who was traveling southbound.

Danielle Griffin was airlifted to Providence Alaska Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition.

The accident prompted lane closures on the highway for about two hours, with one lane reopening around 9 p.m. and the other at approximately 10 p.m., authorities said.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to troopers.
