ADAIR COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — Authorities report that a 25-year-old man from Arkansas died in a multi-vehicle crash on Hwy 51.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, near the intersection of Hwy 51 and S. 4660 Rd.
According to investigators, Joshua Silvar was riding a motorcycle westbound on Hwy 51 when he attempted to overtake another vehicle in a non-passing zone.
Authorities said Silvar’s motorcycle collided with a car traveling eastbound in the opposite lane.
Troopers indicated that a second westbound vehicle, trying to avoid the initial collision, struck Silvar’s motorcycle.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, but Silvar succumbed to his injuries shortly after the accident.
Both lanes of Hwy 51 were closed for several hours during the investigation, which is ongoing.
