Motorcyclist Injured in Highway 28 Crash Near Farson

FARSON, Wyo. – A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries Monday afternoon on Wyoming Highway 28, approximately 20 miles east of Farson.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:41 p.m. involving one motorcycle. The rider, identified as 70-year-old Bob Newman, was found unconscious in the gravel along the highway. He sustained multiple head traumas, six broken ribs, and other injuries.

Witnesses reported that two electricians from Casper discovered Newman after seeing dust from the accident. They contacted 911 and provided assistance until emergency responders arrived. Newman was ultimately airlifted to the University of Utah Hospital for treatment.

Authorities said that Newman lost control of his motorcycle and struck the highway shoulder, leading to his fall. Investigators indicated that a health issue may have contributed to the accident, as he had expressed confusion on a previous call to his daughter.

As of now, Highway 28 remains open with no lane closures reported. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with no further details released at this time.
