Carthage Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash
JASPER COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — Gabriel Royer, 40, was critically injured in a motorcycle crash on Sunday and later died in a Springfield hospital.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near County Lane 63 and Gum Road. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Royer was riding a 2009 Yamaha FZ6R east on Gum Road when he lost control, ran off the roadway, struck a culvert, and overturned, ejecting him from the motorcycle.
Emergency responders from Carthage Fire, Jasper County Deputies, and Mercy Ambulance were dispatched to the scene. Royer sustained serious injuries and was flown by Mercy Lifeline helicopter to Mercy Springfield, landing at Baugh Air Park shortly thereafter.
Schrader’s Towing was on site to remove the motorcycle from the roadway.
The crash is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Further details will follow as they become available.
