Waterbury Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 35-Year-Old Man
A motorcycle accident on Interstate 84 East in Waterbury resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred near Exit 23 shortly before 10 a.m., according to Connecticut State Police. Enrique Antonio Rivera, of Waterbury, was riding a Yamaha YZF-R7 when he lost control, veering off the highway into the right shoulder before striking a guardrail and a bridge parapet on the South Main Street overpass.
Authorities reported that Rivera was thrown from the motorcycle, which came to rest on its side in the right shoulder. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
I-84 East was closed for approximately six hours while police conducted their investigation, which is ongoing.
