SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) — A 77-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle and pickup truck collision on N 9th St and E Carpenter St on October 26.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:24 p.m., according to Springfield Police. The victim, identified as JB Logan of Springfield, suffered blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:54 p.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.
Authorities confirmed Logan was transported to the hospital following the incident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, led by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Springfield Police Department. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, and further details will be released pending notification of family members.
No additional injuries or fatalities were reported, and the roadways were briefly impacted by the incident.
