Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Milton.

Milton, DE- Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on October 15, 2021, at 7:26 a.m.

A 2002 Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 52-year-old woman from Georgetown, was stopped at the stop sign on northbound Cool Spring Road at Stockley Road. A 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 52-year-old man from the Lewes area, was traveling westbound on Stockley Road. Authorities said the driver of the Jeep failed to stop and entered the intersection, colliding with the motorcycle’s passenger side.

The Cherokee came to a controlled stop north of the intersection, while the motorcycle came to rest within the intersection. The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at a nearby hospital. The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced deceased. Identification of the deceased is pending notification of next of kin.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is urged to contact Sgt. Nicholas DeMalto at 302-644-5020.
