Des Moines Man Killed in Motorcycle-Semi Crash on I-35 in Clarke County
A fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a semi occurred on I-35 in Clarke County on Saturday, resulting in the death of a 56-year-old Des Moines man.
The accident occurred around 2:41 p.m. near mile marker 36, in the northbound lanes of the interstate. Authorities reported that the motorcyclist collided with a semi-truck while changing lanes.
Emergency response included the Iowa State Patrol and Clarke County EMS. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver sustained no injuries.
The northbound lanes of I-35 were temporarily closed for investigation and cleanup. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the investigation into the collision is ongoing.
