TEXARKANA, Ark. (KSLA) – Authorities are searching for Rkeavius Morrison, wanted in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Sept. 2.
The incident took place around 9:15 p.m. at North Stateline Avenue and Texas Boulevard when Morrison allegedly fled from police and subsequently collided with a motorcycle. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist died at the scene, though the victim’s identity has not yet been released.
According to a Texarkana, Arkansas, police officer, Morrison was observed unconscious behind the wheel of a vehicle before the pursuit began. “He was a danger for the entire community,” said Lt. Rick Cockrell, TAPD, regarding the decision to pursue Morrison.
The Arkansas State Police is conducting an investigation into the crash. Police reported that the pursuit was brief, lasting mere seconds before the collision occurred.
On Sept. 9, additional felony warrants were issued for Morrison, charging him with first-degree murder, fleeing in a vehicle resulting in serious injury or death, and leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury or death.
Law enforcement is urging anyone with information about Morrison’s whereabouts to contact the Texarkana, Arkansas, Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 903-798-3154. Tips should not attempt to apprehend Morrison directly but rather call 911 if police presence is required.
All charges against Morrison are allegations; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
