Farmer Saves Teen by Applying Tourniquet After Motorcycle Crash Near Firth, Sheriff Reports.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A head-on collision between a Dodge pickup and a motorcycle occurred Tuesday evening near 96th Street and Pella Road.

According to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 6:30 p.m., resulting in serious injuries to the motorcycle’s driver, a 16-year-old boy from Firth. Authorities reported that visibility issues may have been caused by a nearby combine working in the field.

A farmer who witnessed the incident provided immediate assistance by applying a tourniquet to the boy’s injured leg before he was transported to a local hospital. “Firth Fire and Rescue and bystanders did a great job at providing first aid,” Sheriff Terry Wagner said.

Emergency responders closed lanes on Pella Road while working at the scene. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
