Motorcyclist Killed in Solano County Freeway Crash
A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning following a collision on eastbound Interstate 780 near the Glen Cove off-ramp in Solano County, authorities said.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a 64-year-old man from Santa Rosa was operating a Honda Fury when he collided with the left rear of a Ford F-150. Emergency responders transported the rider to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
CHP officials noted that alcohol does not appear to have contributed to the crash. All eastbound lanes were closed during the investigation but have since reopened to traffic. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
This incident follows two separate crashes on Interstate 80 Tuesday night, which resulted in one fatality and injuries to two CHP officers.
