Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Tractor-Trailer on I-55
BRAIDWOOD, IL, (April 11, 2026) – A 25-year-old motorcyclist from Normal died Saturday after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 55.
Fernando Rodrigues was traveling north on I-55 when his motorcycle collided with a southbound tractor-trailer shortly after 2:00 p.m. The impact ejected Rodrigues from the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported Rodrigues to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. No other injuries were reported.
Authorities closed a section of northbound I-55 for approximately four hours during the investigation, which remains active. The Illinois State Police is leading the inquiry.
