BOTTINEAU COUNTY, N.D. (KFYR) – Four individuals were injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway 43 just north of Bottineau Saturday afternoon.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a westbound sedan attempted to pass a pickup towing a boat when it encountered a group of motorcycles in the eastbound lane. Two motorcyclists veered off the road, while a third collided with another motorcycle.
The injured included three motorcyclists, all men from Belcourt. One suffered serious injuries alongside a female passenger from Dunseith, both of whom were airlifted to a Minot hospital.
NDHP reported that none of the injured individuals were wearing helmets at the time of the incident. Multiple local and state agencies responded, and the crash remains under investigation.
This incident was one of two crashes occurring in the area Saturday; the other involved multiple vehicles with nine individuals receiving treatment.
In total, first responders included three ground ambulances, a command vehicle, and two fixed-wing air ambulances for the motorcycle crash, while the second crash prompted a larger response with five ground ambulances, a command vehicle, three fixed-wing air ambulances, and two helicopters.
