Four Fatal Crashes Reported on Arkansas Roads Over Weekend
Arkansas State Police reported four fatal crashes and two injuries between Friday and Tuesday across the state’s roadways.
On Friday, at approximately 7:20 p.m., Rodney Edgin, 60, from Hot Springs, died in a motorcycle accident on Arkansas 54 in Jefferson County. He was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson when he lost control, crossed the centerline, and overturned in a ditch.
A second crash occurred Sunday at 1:25 a.m. in rural Howard County, where Joe Baker Jr., 44, was killed after the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe he was driving failed to negotiate a right turn off Arkansas 27, collided with trees, and overturned, according to state police.
The third incident happened Monday at 6:51 a.m. on U.S. 167 in Southside, Independence County. Eddie Stuckey, 57, of Judsonia, was involved in a three-vehicle collision after his 2012 Nissan Altima crossed the centerline and struck a 2023 GMC Acadia head-on. Two individuals, Krisy Wood, 46, and Connie Smith, 62, were injured in the crash.
On Tuesday at 5:50 p.m., Cecil Meridith, 51, of Jonesboro, died in a motorcycle accident on Arkansas 304 in Greene County. Police reported that Meridith was riding a 2015 BMW R1200 when he lost control during a right turn and was ejected after the motorcycle overturned.
Authorities are investigating all incidents, and further details will be released as they become available.
