A motorcycle accident on U.S. Route 40 in Howard County left a New Franklin man with moderate injuries on June 10.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 11:25 a.m., approximately one mile north of Boonville. A 23-year-old motorcyclist was traveling in the eastbound lane when a pickup ahead slowed to make a left turn onto County Road 345. The motorcycle failed to stop in time, overturned, and slid underneath the pickup.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a Columbia hospital for treatment. No injuries were reported for the driver of the pickup. The crash remains under investigation by authorities.
