FLOYD COUNTY, Iowa —
A motorcycle and semi-truck collision north of Charles City resulted in one fatality Wednesday morning.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:10 a.m. on U.S. Highway 18 when a motorcycle pulled out in front of an eastbound semi-truck.
The motorcycle rider, identified as Ruby May Golnick, 66, of Garner, died at the scene. The semi-truck driver was unharmed.
State troopers confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. No additional information regarding lane closures or tows was provided.
As of this year, 96 fatalities have occurred on Iowa roads, a decrease from the same time last year, with seven involving motorcycles.
