Grieving father shares his heartbreak following daughter’s death in rideshare accident.

One person is dead and several injured following a crash involving multiple vehicles on Tuesday night in Prince George’s County.

Authorities reported the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Maryland Route 301 and Governor’s Park Lane in Upper Marlboro.

According to police, a rideshare vehicle failed to yield the right of way, resulting in a motorcycle colliding with the rear passenger area where a 17-year-old girl, identified as Adriana Maxwell, was seated.

Maxwell was pronounced dead at the scene. The two occupants of the motorcycle also sustained fatal injuries.

Emergency services responded promptly, and multiple lanes were closed for several hours to facilitate an investigation and cleanup.

Authorities indicated the investigation is ongoing, as they work to determine the factors leading to the crash.

Prince George’s County officials noted a general decline in fatal crashes compared to previous years, emphasizing the importance of safe driving practices.

“We encourage motorists to remain vigilant, avoid distractions, and wear seatbelts,” said George Nader, Chief of Police.

Carl Watson, Maxwell’s father, expressed concern over traffic conditions in the area, advocating for improved safety measures such as traffic signals for local developments.

Officials continue to assess the roadway design in collaboration with state agencies to enhance safety for residents and drivers.
