KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A two-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 291 Tuesday afternoon resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man.
The incident occurred around 1:51 p.m. near Elizabeth Street when a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle, traveling south at high speed, improperly passed two vehicles, according to authorities.
The motorcycle collided with a northbound 2015 GMC Terrain making a left turn into a driveway, police said.
John King, 35, of Independence, succumbed to his injuries later at an area hospital.
The crash prompted the temporary closure of the southbound lanes of Missouri Route 291 from West Kansas Street to the scene, as reported by MoDOT Kansas City.
The Liberty Police Department, assisted by the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department, is conducting the ongoing investigation.
