KANSAS CITY, Kan. (WIBW) – Two individuals sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 70 Thursday night, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 8:22 p.m. on westbound I-70 near N. 57th Street. A 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was reportedly traveling west at a high rate of speed when the rider attempted to avoid a collision with another vehicle.
The rider lost control, laying the motorcycle down, which subsequently slid off the roadway into a ditch, flipping twice before coming to a stop.
Both the rider, Richard Billinger, 55, of Gladstone, Missouri, and the passenger, Dayna Campbell, 44, of Bonner Springs, were transported to the University of Kansas Hospital with serious injuries.
No further details are available at this time. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
