LASALLE PARISH, La. (KNOE) – A two-vehicle crash on Louisiana Hwy. 8 resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on Sunday, May 18.
Authorities identified the deceased as 51-year-old Roger Bordelon of Enterprise. Kathleen Kendrick, 50, of Trout, was arrested by Louisiana State Police (LSP) at the scene.
According to LSP, Kendrick was driving a Silverado westbound when she attempted to turn left onto La. Hwy 773, colliding with Bordelon’s eastbound motorcycle.
Bordelon was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Impairment is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, LSP confirmed.
Kendrick faces multiple charges, including failure to yield, operating a vehicle while impaired, vehicular negligent injuring, and vehicular homicide.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to LSP. They urge all motorists to be mindful of their driving conditions, particularly with regard to alcohol and drug use.
